Are
your children tired of the hotel pool? Is the levante wind too strong
to be able to go to the beach? Does your child have a birthday?
The
Aguapark is really fun, for young and old alike. There are safe areas
for smaller children, and as from the age of around 5yrs. there are
endless attractions, depending on your ‘daring’. It is clean,
well organised and very well supervised, and they are very strict -
if they think your child is too small or too young for a particular
attraction, he or she will not be allowed on.

Aguapark Algeciras 'Bahia Park' ---
Take
the N.340 to Algeciras. Take exit No. 106 A and the park is well signposted.
The clientele is mainly Spanish with a sprinkling of Gibraltarians and
other foreigners. I suggest you go at around 14.00 hours. BEFORE the
afternoon crowds arrive. If you go after just after 14.00 hrs. you pay
the reduced afternoon rate. There are plenty of thatched parasols for
shade, and it is worth renting a couple of sunbeds. There is a large
self-service restaurant, but we saw that a lot of families took a picnic
and bottles of drink.
In mid-August it is full, but even then it is not actually overcrowded,
and if you go at 14.00 as recommended you should not have to queue too
long to go on the Kamikaze run … you go first through a tunnel
then there is the sensation of a ‘free fall’ - my
grandchildren loved this from the early age of six. It is exciting for
Mums and Dads too - in fact, only the grandmother-author of this
article funked it! There are also simpler slide runs for the more timorous.

Aguapark Algeciras 'Bahia Park' ---
Rest assured, it makes a
really good afternoon out - a real change, and it only takes you
about 25 minutes to get there. There is a large car park.

About Zoë
and her guesthouse
Zoë
is the owner of Guesthouse Dar Cilla which is unique of its sort in Tarifa.
It is located on the outskirts of the old town within the old 12th century walls.
'Dar' is an Arabic word for a town house in which a series of suites are grouped
around a central courtyard. Each suite is fully independent, but there is a
pleasant air of 'sociability' and you will meet Zoë and fellow guests on
the roof terrace over a glass of wine.
